David Taylor

David Taylor has been playing in orchestras in the Pacific Northwest for over 60 years. Studying with Morgan Griffin and Arthur Grossman, his first orchestra experience was with the Spokane Philharmonic/Spokane Symphony from 1960 thru 1966. Subsequently he was a member of the Seattle Symphony from 1968 thru 2002, playing bassoon, contra bassoon and saxophone. He is presently principal bassoon of the Southwest Washington Symphony in Longview, Washington, having served in that position since his Seattle Symphony retirement. He is a co-founder of the Northwest Jazz Orchestra and enjoys playing in various regional orchestras, including the Spokane and Walla Walla Symphonies and other regional orchestras in Washington and Oregon.
