Clark Potter

Clark Potter is Prof. of Viola at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln where he is also a member of the conducting faculty. After 26 years as principal viola,(Read more) he recently retired from the Lincoln Symphony. He is the violist and frequent music arranger for the Trans-Nebraska Players quintet. He has conducted the Lincoln Youth Symphony since 2007 and has conducted that orchestra in seven European countries. He is in demand as a clinician for viola events and for youth orchestras and has conducted middle school All-State orchestras in four states. A 1978 graduate of R.A. Long HS, he was a student of Janet Clithero and John Hafner in Longview before switching to viola in college. He earned degrees from Western Wash. Univ., Indiana Univ. and California Institute of the Arts, and he taught at Eastern Oregon University in La Grande for nine years prior to joining the faculty at Nebraska.
