Annie Harkey-Power is from Longview and first started studying the cello with Christopher Leach.(Read more)  After graduating from Mark Morris High School, Annie continued her studies with James Smith at Mount Hood Community College and then with Steven Pologe at the University of Oregon, receiving a Bachelor of Science in Music. Now she is a freelance cellist and private cello instructor at Music World in Battle Ground, Musikhaus in Portland, and at home in Vancouver. She plays cello in the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra and the Oregon East Symphony and principal cello in the Oregon Mahler Festival. Annie shares the stage in these groups with among others her husband, violinist Don Power. Annie and Don are the Wine & Roses Duo, playing chamber music concerts, weddings, wine tastings, and other events.
